I think I've had my SGC for months now:Kiko Mizuhara.

Kiko is only 20 but her unbelievable and exotic *** beauty has caught the eyes of many already.Not only a pretty face but she's also a very talented model/actress. She has been spotted in some street fashion blogs last season,that's where I knew about her, another thing that caught my attention was her performance in Norwegian Wood,this girl has that je ne sais quoi and Nylon Japan knows it,she's one of their fav faces.

Her mother is from Korean background but born in Japan and her father is American, so, like most mixed ethnicity people she has the best of both ethnic backgrounds.

Daughter of both controversial and talented Kurt Cobain (RIP) and Courtney Love, Frances with only 18 years old emanates the Cobain-Love's decadent aura. She looks gorgeous in these pictures and I must say I like her way more than Zoe Kravitz; they appeared the last August 2nd on Hedi Slimane's (for those who have no idea who Hedi Slimane is he was awarded International Fashion Designer of the Year by the CFDA in 2002) diary. If you haven't seen it, it's a "must visit", the images are really cool and another celeb you will find there is the deceased Amy Winehouse.

Apart from loving her pictures the little story of why I chose her is that some days ago when the Lollapalooza was taking place my brother told me that there were rumors about Foo Fighters doing some sort of tribute because of the 20th Anniversary of "Nevermind" which I didn't think would happen and didn't, although Dave did mention it, so I sort of linked it.

Hello guys! I know I have neglected this blog for quite some time but I'm here to write a bit,which I haven't done in months too! I will be updating the girl crush of the month soon, I hope,or maybe not, who knows? I really don't have time to even think of myself really. I am preparing, sketching and trying to find the materials for the mini collection that I want to have for the second anniversary of Rouge et Noir. Also, I am trying to find time to snap some pics of the SS2011 "collection" but thanks to my lack of organization and other stressful happenings in my life I haven't been able to do much, which leads to frustration, more stress and as a result: nothing finished.

Last Friday though, I tried to make space for myself and went to Starbucks, I got a Caramel Frapuccino and started reading a book that I bought 2 weeks ago but restrained myself from reading because I needed to get other things done. The book is Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. To be honest, I am not very into the whole super romantic novel, although I adore The Notebook (movie),I'm more of a fantasy novels reader haha!. Anyway, I read the summary and I found it appealing and I decided to buy it. Stupid me I didn't use my discount card for book's purchasing, duuuuh! So here I was in Starbucks with cup in one hand and book in the other and realized people staring, I won't ever understand why it's so weird for people to see someone reading. Okay, maybe they found it interesting because I was turning pages really fast, in only about 2 hrs..maybe less I read up to chapter 12..around 120 pages? *Sigh* I love reading but I hate reading so fast because I finish books way too soon and after that I don't have anything new to read. Bottom line: I recommend this book :)

In other news, I am going to share some pictures from Andy's blog. I'm sure most of you have already seen them on her's but I have to share the feature pics here on my blog as well. She's wearing the Raven tunic (sleeveless version) during her vacation in Santorini. You can find Raven HERE.

P.S. I think I've never written so much here. I don't even know if you like to read long posts...opinions?

Well, my May girl crush seemed to come from a modest-model background (she was the lovely blonde that popped from asos.com spring and fall 2010 collections) but I couldn't be more wrong. She and her sister Poppy Delevingne come from a rich English background. She studied with STORM agency funder Sarah Doukas' daughter (who discover her sister and suggested her to become a model at age 16) in a prestigious school. Her godmother is none other than Joan Collins ( her sister's godfather is Condé Nast's managing director, Nicholas Coleridge).

After seeing her in asos.com,and being my fav model there, she scored the ss2011 campaign for Burberry shot by Mario Testino. She's now the face of both, Burberry's April Showers and Burberry Pre-Fall.
Edit: She also appears in several youtube videos in Burberry's channel and is also the image of Burberry Beauty.

Interesting fact: She was the second runner up for the part of Alice in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland but Mia Wasikowska got the part.

Yes, I had to choose Freja again, not only she's my favorite model ever (okay there might be a little competition with Sigrid Agren, Bambi Northwood Blyth, Frida Gustavsson,Coco Rocha and Kate Moss but whatevs, they can't be compared really because all of them have very different personalities and modeling skills) but I have a HUGE girl crush on her since last year...Feb-March 2010 to be exact,when she shared the spot with Abbey Lee.
Unfortunately, Abbey Lee isn't my fab right now, she looks rather sick though I hope it's only the Barbie blond that doesn't suit her, anyway, it's like Freja's anniversary in my blog. Another reason why I think she HAD to be my girl crush this month is because it's my month and because of Chanel's show. To me, it was unarguably inspired by Freja's style. Good job Kaiser! I really liked it!! (and I am not very into Chanel but since my girl is with Karl Lagerfeld, I think I have given the Maison a chance haha).

Super stylish Mireia from My daily Style has featured the STONEM (also featured by Caroline Blomst) from Rouge et Noir tunics. I made her this tunic more than a year ago but she had proved us that shredded tunics are can still be a hot item specially if you pair ir with leather trousers and a lovely parka making this item edgy and chic. Of course you would be seeing some not so nice hem as I believe she decided to cut out a bit of the original back. You can find this style in the store with Caroline Blomst but it's the same design.

Le hice esta prenda (que también la ha usado Caroline Blomst)hace ya más de un año, provándonos que lo shredded puede seguir una prenda que está en voga, especialmente si se complementa a un par de pitillos de piel y una parka verde militar,haciéndolo un look super edgy y muy chic. Claro que verán un desperfecto en los bordes de la túnica pues creo que Mireia cortó un poco la parte de atrás por ser muy largo para su estilo talvez. D:

I am not only a huge fan of No Doubt's music and in consequence of Gwen Stefani but I also think she is like wonder woman or something, she is amazing on stage, has very interesting personality,she's super self confident, a mum, a wife, an entrepeneur and als, surprinsingly, a very good designer, she creates things that she would wear and that's exactly where I think her success resides.

I actually was asking through my tumblr yesterday if the dress Hayley was wearing was a Miu Miu and she confirmed it through her twitter account just today.I was not that sure because I'd never seen her in a designer dress but she finally did it and I think Miu Miu really suits her personality, go Hayley!

De hecho estaba preguntando a través de mi tumblr si el vestido de Hayley era Miu Miu y lo vi confirmado a través de su cuenta oficial de twitter. No estaba segura ya que usualmente no usa marcas costosas pero me da gusto que haya elegido Miu MIu pues creo que el estilo que maneja va muy acorde a la personalidad de Hayley.

Quién fue su favorita? Pensaron en las mismas chicas o eligieron a otras??

During September the IDM week for mexican young talents, where they presented their collections, took place. I posted about a couple of my favorite designers during that week to which I wasn't able to attend for personal reasons. Even though I couldn't make it to those shows I still posted about them, unfortunately the pictures' quality wasn't the best. José Luis was kind enough to send me some images from the show to replace the others. His collection was inspired by medusas translated into high hair and bright colors on the catwalk. I really liked the make-up used combined with the sparkly fabrics and prints that you can't help staring at.Models with voluminous hair styles and theatrical-like make-up, an example of a high-fashion catwalk. Accessories by Carlos Victimo.T-shirts, dresses and skirts in a bold palette, modern prints, draped details that enhance feminine shape and simplicity in the form of trousers for men.
What I like about the IDM and ÊTRE as a label is that the designs are bold and not the typical Mexican fashion we were used to, they have gone beyond the usual embrodery dresses and other typical Mexican source of inspiration. The only thing missing now is a lot more of expossure to these young talents and of course support from the fashion industry.

José Luis was the winner of Best Rockstar style @ Rexona Crystal Awards during IDM ss2011.

Durante septiembre la semana del IDM tuvo lugar mostrando las últimas colecciones de los talentos jóvenes en el rubro del diseño. Ya había escrito sobre un par de mis diseñadores favoritos el mes pasado aunque no tuve la oportunidad de asistir por razones personales. Lamentablemente la mayoría de las fotos no eran de la mejor calidad. José Luis fue super amable al enviarme unas cuantas imágenes para sustituir las que yo había utilizado.. Su colección fue inspirada por medusas que fueron "traducidas" en altos peinados esponjosos y colores brillantes sobre la pasarela. Las modelos mostraron cabelleras vouminosas y un maquillaje teatral, tal como una pasarela de high-fashion debe ser.Los accesorios fueron creados por Carlos Victimo para esta colección.T-shirts, vestidos y faldas con colores arriesgados,estampados modernos, drapeados que favorecen la figura femenina y sencillos pantalones o bermudas para los caballeros.
Lo que me gusta del IDM y de ÊTRE es que exponen diseños novedosas y audaces, alejando a la moda mexicana del típico vestidito bordado y otras típicas fuentes de inspiración. Ahora lo único que hace falta es una mayor cobertura de este tipo de eventos y más apoyo de la industria de la moda dentro y fuera del país.

Goyri for this collection is used amazing range pf vaporous fabrics that would be perfect for a beach-weather. I can imagine the sea breeze making the dresses flow as a wave. Lovely pale tones like soft pink and aquamarine in contrast with sandy, lilac, red and magenta.

Goyri en esta colección usó una gama de telas vaporos que serían perfectas para un clima de playa. Puedo imaginarme la brisa marina haciendo que los vestidos floten como las olas del mar. Lindos tonos pálidos como el rosa y aguamarina en contraste con tonos arena, lilas,rojos y magentas.

If I was working with Rachel Zoe, I would love to say Oh! we're getting ready for the Oscars or Golden Globes or Naomi's Fashion for relief (sorry for the relation, I just saw episode 3, how moving was when those 5 amazing runway looks from Lee McQueen made the catwalk?) but no, and obviously I am not a top blogger nor Anna Wintour to say that I am getting ready for the run-here-run-there FW season. I wish... But in a way, we all are getting ready, either we're going or not to some Fashion Week in the world, we all are expectant. For this I decided to write about my favorite fashionistas in the following weeks. First, Anna dello Russo. She's just too fab. Her extravagant-directly-from-catwalk-style is breathtakingly inspiring. Did you know she has her own blog and multiple youtube videos? I encourage you to go see them right away. She seems to be such a down to earth woman and seeing the passion with which she talks about fashion, well, it does make you re-think about how passionate you are about what you are allegedly passionate about

There was this contest in a Mexican show called,sort of translated, Familiar with Chabelo, well that's the name of the show, but the contest was something related with this tennis shoe brand called Bubblegummers,where mums had to identify their kid's legs while the rest of the body was covered by a some kind of wall.Could you recognise one of your babies in a crowd where most babies have the same hair color, height and weight?I think I could.I can. I feel like that every time I recognise one of my shredded pieces somewhere. I mean there are zillion of black tees out there, but something about the texture, the way they fall over the shoulders,the hem, something tells me I'm their mummy.

I was checkin out Pelayo's Kate Loves Me blog and suddenly I saw something familiar about that black-one-sleeve-tee...mhhm that looks like one of mine...closer look...OMG! that is one of my R+N babies!!

I've had a somewhat bad day but with this..even if you can't see much of the shredded detail,seeing Pelayo wearing it and actually seem to enjoy it...It's priceless. Honey, you're not a prince, you're my stylish KING!

I am tempted...very tempted, specially with the metallic/python version. Shoes are so going to be the destruction of me.I really can't tell when this obsession started.

It's Friday already, most of you will be hanging out or partying with friends this weekend...I, on the other hand, will be shredding to have orders ready. In any case I think I have had a very calm week so I don't need to go anywhere,next week will be different I am sure. I was planning to go to this fashion event in another city but due to their weird organisation I decided not to as they were not securing me a spot as press. I had a very very lucky day, hope you had a nice one too!

El viernes ya está aquí y seguramente la mayoría estará de fiesta este fin de semana, yo al contrario estaré trabajando para tener las órdenes listas para enviar el lunes. No me quejo pues he tenido una semana bastante tranquilita y no siento la necesidad de irme de fiesta, pero la próxima semana seguro será distinto. Había planeado ir a un evento de moda este fin, lamentablemente la organización estuvo medio rara y no me aseguraron con anticipación un lugar como prensa así que decidí no arriesgarme. Tuve un día muy afortunado, espero el suyo sea fantástico también!

Blanco chose american model Hilary Rhoda for the new campaign and I love it! Even though we don't have that label in Mexico, you can easily use some of the styling ideas into outfits.I love Rhoda's classic elegance and poise with a modern tuch by adding denim, the denim shirt look is my favorite.

Blanco eligió a la modelo estadounidense Hilary Rhoda para la nueva campaña y me ha encantado. Aunque en México no tenemos la marca Blanco, fácilmente se pueden copiar los outfits. La elegancia de Rhoda es clásica y femenina en esta campaña y con un toque moderno con la camisa de mezclilla (el look que más me ha llamado la atención)
